A Lack of Updates

Breaking news: I'm terrible at maintaining a blog. I'm still alive and well though. The final semester at school has me pretty busy these days, but I'm still devoting time to other projects when possible.

I'm currently spending what little spare time I have on developing a prototype school administration program. The unimaginable terribleness of NC State's tools (MyPack Portal, Vista, etc, for those of you unfortunate to know what they are) has convinced me that this is necessary. I'll be working with grade schools first and I've got some prospects for beta testers. I'll post some real updates here once things firm up a bit.

I'm also starting work on a Facebook App. Can't reveal the details though :) More to come.

Progress Continues

My first "updating" task is done - Personal Computing Solutions is up to date with a slightly new look and a few changes to my web portfolio I also made it pull posts from this blog so that I don't have to worry about posting updates in multiple places.

I created a sample edition of my cafeteria web app, so anyone interested can play with it. I've toyed with the idea of developing a full-scale school administration program. It wouldn't be too hard, and there might be a market for it.

Anyway, my next task is to finish the Finishing Touch website (though that sounds a bit ironic). We want to get that off the ground soon, so I'll post some updates on how it goes!

Cafeteria App Disaster

Starting this blog made me realize the need to update a lot of my websites. I spent a good amount of time this weekend updating Personal Computing Solutions to focus more on web design, especially on web apps.

Now the coolest app that I've deployed thus far is a management system for my old high school's cafeteria. I wanted to put up a sample edition to show what the app can do, but while trying to do that I lost all the data in the production edition of the app (trust me, it was an easier mistake to make than it would seem). Anyway, I spent the weekend in disaster recovery and the folks at 1&1 were able to get everything back, but it was a stressful experience.

Check out my updated web portfolio, and I should have a sample of the cafeteria program up soon.

Consolidation

I'm trying to get a blog started, more for my own good than anyone else's. I need a place to log a lot of random projects. I seem to have a dozen going on at any given time, and I lose track of where they started, where they finally died out, and what useful stuff they accomplished somewhere in the middle. So this is my new attempt to bring together updates on my forays into web design, programming, music, and whatever else it is that I do while normal people are sleeping or watching TV. And if anyone stumbles across a useful snippet of something here, so much the better for both of us.
